ISO 12625-5 Wet tensile strength of tissue products
If a tissue is used or processed in a wet state, wet tensile strength is one of the key material properties. Determination of the wet tensile strength of tissue products is described in detail in the ISO 12625-5 standard.
The dry tensile strength of tissue is standardized in part 4 of ISO 12625.
The ISO 3781 and TAPPI T456 standards are used for paper and cardboard with a high strength.

Determination of the wet tensile strength to ISO 12625-5 with ZwickRoell
ZwickRoell offers a fast, reliable method for determining the wet tensile strength of tissue to ISO 12625-5 with the Finch device.
The zwickiLine tensile testing machine, which operates at a constant strain rate, is used to position the tissue specimen vertically.
Soaking takes place with the aid of a device, the Finch immersion device, which is clamped in the lower specimen grip of the materials testing machine. The water container can be moved vertically. We recommend the use of Fmax 1 kN screw grips.
The uncomplicated handling of the Finch clamp allows a quick change between wet tensile tests and other tests such as the tissue tensile test in a dry state to ISO 12625-4.
