ASTM and ISO Metal Tension Testing under Strain Rate Control in “closed loop” and “open loop” technique

Reliable and reproducible test results require equal settings of the correct test speeds. The ASTM and ISO standards for standard tensile testing on metals were expanded in 2009 to include strain rate control. With this method, significantly more uniform test speed settings and control were achieved. This method can be implemented with almost every testing machine.
