Function description

The objective of tests on elastomers and foams is the straightforward and fast measurement of material elasticity. One material that is up to 100% elastic stores supplied energy and releases it at the moment the force is no longer applied. In contrast, material that is up to 100% plastic absorbs supplied energy completely. These characteristics are used to measure rebound resilience:

Operation

  • Operation is menu driven.
  • The pendulum height is easily adjustable via an eccentric with the help of a settings program.

  • Several languages can be set (English, German, and a third one open for assignment)
  • You can connect to a PC and to the ZwickRoell testing software: The ZwickRoell testing software offers a wide range of possibilities for data transfer (from device to PC) as well as for evaluation, processing, documentation, and saving test results.
  • Rapid error analysis is possible through an integrated routine.

Specimen tempering

The specimen along with the interchangeable holding fixture can be tempered externally in a heated chamber.

The specimen holder is attached to the base of the device with a plug connector, which enables quick replacement. This minimizes the temperature loss of the temperature-controlled specimen when it is inserted into the test device.

A specimen holder with a temperature control unit for a temperature range of up to 100°C that can be electrically heated is available for tests at high temperatures.

PC connection

A PC can be connected via the integrated RS232 C interface for the output and further processing of the test results.

The ZwickRoell testing software offers options for evaluation, documentation, storage and data transfer. It can also accept and process measured values from various devices (e.g. pendulum impact testers, thickness gauges, scales, etc.).
