Purpose of the test
During the development of high-quality offset printing paper, the force-deformation ratio during the compression test is a deciding factor for clean printing. Missing halftone dots are just as undesirable as an unclear print image.
The compressibility test provides information on the behavior of paper during offset printing: paper is stressed up to nominal load in the compression device, whereby the force and elongation are measured. Since the deformation values fall in the scale of 10 µm, a high resolution displacement transducer is required.
High-precision measurement of force and deformation with ZwickRoell
- Reliable determination of the elastic and plastic deformation behavior during the printing process
- Dependable measured values through continuous application and measurement of the test load and compression depth value pairs with derivable characteristics (such as plastic and elastic compression work)
