ZwickRoell Introduces New Mflow Extrusion Plastometer

The Mflow extrusion plastometer sets new standards in melt flow testing in accordance with ASTM D1238 and ISO 1133-1/-2. Thanks to extensive modular possibilities and significant time savings for each test, it offers an unprecedented combination of performance, ease of use and flexibility.

“The Mflow is the ideal solution for the plastics industry, which must be able to rely on the precision of the flow tests they perform. The new Mflow measures both the melt mass flow rate (MFR) and the melt volume flow rate (MVR), while guaranteeing reliable and reproducible test results. These factors are crucial for the quality assurance of plastic products.”

Designed for the specific requirements of the plastics industry

In it’s base version, the Mflow performs MFR and MVR measurements according to method A for MFR and method B for MVR. Thanks to its modular design, the device is adapted to the specific needs of the plastics industry and can be expanded with a variety of functions such as pneumatic weight lifting, a cleaning function and a weight-selection feature. These options offer increased adaptability and future-proofing for constantly growing laboratory requirements.

Cleaning is up to 30 percent faster

One of the most important innovations presented by the Mflow is the significant reduction in cleaning time between tests.

Stöhr: “With improved accessibility and optimized surfaces, cleaning time is reduced by up to 30 percent to enable successive tests to be carried out more quickly.” This is a significant advantage for laboratories that are under high pressure, for example, to work efficiently and without wasting time.

Optimized ergonomics, intuitive machine operation

The Mflow was also designed with a focus on ergonomics. It offers an optimized working position, facilitates the filling of specimen material and reduces physical strain on the user. The integrated touch display and LED status indicators support intuitive operation, which is possible both with and without a PC. With the new Mflow, ZwickRoell is setting new standards in plastics testing. The combination of time efficiency, ergonomic design and flexible modularity makes the Mflow an indispensable tool in modern test laboratories in the plastics industry and makes a significant contribution to increasing productivity.
