ZwickRoell donates €1000 towards a new sensory playground at Kingsbury Academy

ZwickRoell, a leading global supplier of advanced technology materials testing products, which has been operating in the UK for over 40 years, has donated €1,000 to Coventry based special educational needs (SEN) school, Kingsbury Academy.

The €1,000 donation will go towards building a new sensory playground that will help improve child development for pupils at the school.

Amjid Zaman, Headteacher of Kingsbury Academy welcomed the donation and said “This generous donation is deeply appreciated and helps us get one step closer to our goal. Our new playground will provide a fun, stimulating and safe space for our pupils to develop their physical strength and wellness, whilst providing greater opportunities in meeting their sensory processing needs.

We are always grateful to have likeminded partners who share similar values and beliefs; ultimately working in partnership to enhance the life and learning experiences of children and young people with additional needs”.

The donation from ZwickRoell stems from a company initiative called ZwickRoell Runs The World. The initiative occurs annually and has run for 6 consecutive years which has seen the company donate more than €250,000 to charities since 2017. This year’s challenge was to run, walk or hike a total of 180,000km in 60 days. With 1,049 participants made up of staff, customers and suppliers taking part, a total distance of 191,623km was completed which has resulted in €90,000 being donated to multiple charities across the world.
